Tile Texture Shape. These three descriptive words blend to provide the homeowner and designer interesting options in terms of both visual appeal and practical usability. In fact, the essence of combining shape and texture, using tile as your medium of choice, creates a real sense of organic pattern. The use of pattern in interior design plans is more appealing every day as we segue into 2018.
To the idea and importance of texture, the ubiquitous site Apartment Therapy once offered its readers ten ways to add it to a room. One of those ways was the tile shape and they observed that “small variations in tone make these tiles textural”. Interestingly, note the subtle textural and tonal differences in our Waterfall Porcelain Tile Collection above. While the facial dimension is quite typical, the overall result is complex.
The images above and below provide a degree of appreciation for the power of texture. As a part of our Cottage Stone Collection, these stone tiles co-mingle unique texture with a simple shape. Form and texture are realized here in a unified fashion suitable for luxury modern interiors. BTW, here is a link to another post on shapes!
