NKBA Island Styles 2019

Last Updated On

The National Kitchen and Bath Association, or NKBA, recently delivered their annual report on trends in the industry. This naturally includes NKBA Island Styles 2019. Let’s take a look at this a little bit more closely.

The website, Freshome, questioned Elle H-Millard, Industry Relations Manager at the NKBA, about what the next three years might hold for us all. “Transitional kitchens have dominated kitchen design and 65% of respondents said they were the most-often preferred kitchen style,” said Elle. “That makes them more than twice as popular as traditional, contemporary or farmhouse kitchen styles.”

The most important take away for Marble Systems, as a producer of natural stone, is what was mentioned about kitchen islands. Ms. H-Millard indicated that the clear winners in terms of island size are large to medium-sized versions. She further stated that “small and extra-small islands are not popular, and not having an island at all doesn’t appear to be an option, garnering only 2% of the vote.” So there you have it.

Needless to say, we feel capable of providing our clients and friends with almost any type or style of natural stone for their kitchen islands. Contact us here for more information about the wide variety of slabs that we offer on a regular basis. Thanks for reading.
