Marble look porcelain tile is the very embodiment of that old advertising slogan, “ You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby.” In the early and humbler days of this material it was quite utilitarian. Now, a major designer such as Adam Meshberg, of the Meshberg Group in New York, says that “Faux stone or large format scale tile will soon replace natural materials like concrete or Italian white marble. Emerging technology and improvement in printing and material quality has allowed for the creation of new porcelain tile that surpasses expectations in looking identical to the real natural materials but [is] easier to install and less expensive.”
Generically speaking, marble look porcelain tile, and all porcelain tile for that matter, has long been known as a hard-wearing, easy to maintain, flooring and wall- covering. Technological improvements over the last three plus decades have made the visual impact of these elements so consistent with natural materials that the choice of porcelain has become easier and easier for all the various stakeholders.
