One of the biggest advantages of soft quartzite slabs is their marble-like appearance at a fraction of the cost. They come in a variety of veining patterns unique to each slab. Moreover, with careful maintenance, they will even last longer than marble.

Despite what its name suggests, soft quartzite will not break, split, or crack easily. It's harder than marble yet softer than granite. Additionally, it's UV-resistant. Disadvantages

There are some disadvantages to consider when choosing soft quartzite as a countertop. Primarily, it is prone to chipping and is not stain-resistant. Therefore, any soft quartzite countertop will require careful use and maintenance. Be sure to clean up any messes as soon as they occur. Sealing will prevent staining, so be sure to regular re-seal your surface.

Soft quartzite is also not heat resistant. When cooking, be careful to use mats under hot pots and pans to safeguard the surface.

Although it's not as vulnerable to acid as marble, you should still be mindful of handling acidic substances on your soft quartzite countertop. Over time, repeated exposure to acidic liquids like coffee or wine might discolor a lighter soft quartzite slab.
