Our local topic for today is Northern Virginia Split Faced Stone. Since “buy local” is quite a thing today, our wonderful showroom in Fairfax, Virginia is a prime spot for your buying local ideas.
Typically, the term “split-face” or “split-faced” refers to a stone that has been roughly cut or literally split apart. Then, it is left that way and not further finished by polishing or honing. This leads to a very unique rough textured visual that in many cases is also three-dimensial when installed. Our Silver Shadow Marble is a fine example, as pictured above. A design plan that calls for a bit of the unique will find a welcome ally in a split-face finish. Thanks for reading.
