As the summer sets in, I’m delighted to share with you my exclusive July edit of interior tiles that will make your home wishes come true. In this article, you will find details about some of the best tiles that I have chosen from Marble Systems’s collections.
Even though we already left mid-summer behind us, my mind always gravitates towards what works year-round, with shifting temperatures and light. That’s why this month’s edit features a variety of timeless tile styles, to not only take you through each season but years to come. Here are my design tile picks:
Large-format White Marble
Just in case you’ve been told otherwise or read that white tile is so last year. Think again. Plain white extra-large tiles will never go out of style. But here I’m suggesting you totally up the ante with our large-format marble tiles.
These large-format white marble tiles work beautifully in open-plan places. So if you’ve got a large kitchen-diner with large windows that overlook your garden, these are an exceptional choice. The faint veins in the stone mean these tiles are a little more interesting than porcelain or ceramic without being too much for even an ultra-modern setting.
Also when it comes to bathroom or wet-room remodeling, do not be shy to use our suggested large-format white marble tiles. They also lift even the smallest of spaces, creating the illusion of a larger room. Also, they add a light and sleek style to a bathroom which is most certainly timeless and sophisticated.
Herringbone Limestone Mosaics
We are all used to seeing tile herringbone patterns on the floor, but they also work very well on the walls too, adding focus and transforming a dull wall area into a delightful tile feature wall. My favorite this month are these grey herringbone mosaics which are an exceptional choice for Scandi-inspired homes filled with natural wood and rusted metal fixtures. Better still, they don’t require heaps of maintenance to keep them looking their best; their rustic finish is what makes them so appealing.
These tiles are perfect for the kitchen, hallway, or bathroom, especially for wet rooms where you can lay them from floor to ceiling.
Amelia Waterjet Decos
I’ll never tire of antique-inspired waterjet decos, they offer so much choice and styles with a real designer luxe look, that looks outstanding in any room especially bathrooms. These tiles are the sort of thing you’d expect to see in a London townhouse, but rest assured they give any bathroom a luxurious edge.
You can use these decos for something as simple as a feature wall or go all out and lay them floor to ceiling – as they are incredibly versatile, with a designer palette of colors, finishes, and patterns to choose from.
Whatever you may choose to do with your bathroom, if you have the space, make sure there’s a free-standing bathtub at the center.
Glossy Glass Mosaics
Now, this is me letting the summer sun influence my decisions…
These vibrant glass mosaics come in a variety of colorways and are perfectly placed in walk-in showers in bathrooms with heaps of natural light, which they will reflect gloriously. Even the darkest bathrooms with no natural light, can have a sunny lift with these glass mosaic tiles with the right lighting, they glisten like jewels.
Remember, your bathroom or wet-room should be somewhere you can retreat to and relax after a long day. Don’t be afraid to be bold in your design choices and select tiles that will lift your mood, like these glass mosaics.
Natural Terracotta Tiles
If you are a fan of natural artisan tile, like traditional square terracotta tiles, then why not up the ante with something a little more interesting, like these fan-shaped terracotta tiles. They bring just as much traditional charm but are certain to set your home apart.
These terracotta tiles are perfect for the floor and walls throughout your home, especially if you have a spacious living area with a fireplace at the center. You could also use them in your kitchen and carry them through to the outdoors for some of that al-fresco appeal.
Geometric Patterned Tiles
What could be more alluring to an otherwise blank wall surface, than patterned tiles? These soft monochrome patterned tiles come in a diverse choice of patterns, which are part of the Nova Decorative collection from Marble Systems. They add interest and a focal point to any floor or wall and look really great as a kitchen splash-back.
