SELECTING A SLAB
OVERVIEW
You’ve decided on natural stone for your project? Good Choice! Do you have a Fabricator?
* A fabricator is the licensed person and/or company who measures, cuts and installs natural stone.
* Referral is the best way to find a fabricator. Please speak with your kitchen & bath company or contractor for a fabrication facility near you.
* The phone book lists all the fabricators in the area under Marble, Granite or Natural Stone, and We recommend that you make sure that your fabricator is a member of MIA. ( Marble Institute of America)
* We do not sell Slabs directly to the public, only to licensed fabricators. Our slabs are also labeled with price ranges. These ranges are Low, Medium, High and Exotic and assist in the selection process only.
* Pricing is to be acquired from your fabricator or kitchen company.
Next step: Selection Process
* We recommend bringing paint chips, fabric swatches, flooring and most importantly, cabinet samples to assist you in choosing your stone
* We carry a wide selection of colors and patterns. Please plan on spending some time making your final selection.
* The front slab is representative in color and pattern of the bundles of slabs behind it. Each slab is cut from a large block (similar to slices in a loaf of bread).
* Marble Systems, Inc. will not move slabs for viewing purposes, plainly because they’re heavy and it’s a matter of safety for staff and customers. Your safety comes first.
* Your final selection must be made 2–3 weeks prior to the cabinet installation. These dates will be provided by your fabricator or kitchen company.
* Once the selection is made, we will reserve your slabs and fax the information to the fabricator (i.e. lot numbers, size, name of material, etc.)
Marble Systems, Inc. will hold your selection for 5 business days only.
* Marble Systems, Inc. guarantees colors only, not specific slabs. It’s the responsibility of your fabricator to verify the correct lot number and purchase your selection from us.
Natural Stone Maintenance
* As an authorized dealer of Miracle Sealants, Marble Systems, Inc carries a full line of Natural Stone Care Products for your needs.
* For regular maintenance and cleaning, we recommend soap and water and/or specific natural stone care products. No harsh chemicals or abrasives!
* For yearly maintenance we recommend sealing your stone to ensure the highest level of protection from stains and scratches. This is a must!
* Accidents happen! If something unfortunate occurs, don’t panic, just give us a call. We will answer your questions.
TIPS TO REMEMBER:
* Sealing your natural stone once a year is recommended. This will protect from scratches and stains.
* Clean using stone safe products only. This means no harsh chemicals or abrasives.
* Granite is heat and scratch resistant. You may place a hot pan up to 450 degrees right on your countertop as well as cut on it.
All of our Sales Representatives will be more than happy to assist you in choosing your future upgrading. For example, Shower Floors, Backsplash, Shower Walls, Foyers, Patios, Powder Room, Halls, etc. If you need to make an appointment with one of our sales representatives, schedule it at least a couple days in advance.
For your convenience we have appointments available: Mon - Fri from 8:30am - 11:00am, 2:30pm – 4:30pm, On Thursdays 8:30am to 7:00pm. No appointments available on Saturdays.
